Mansory Chopster ... Abomination or Art ?

Judge as you please... I do have to admit all that carbon is pretttty luscious

M5 CSL !!!

Sorrryyy, picture above is NOT a M5 CSL... its just the Ring Taxi.
but...

Worldcarfans has some details !
CSL = Coupe+Sport+Lightweight. Meaning no fancy interior, no refinement, just pure driving experience, like the old M3CSL. Rumours are the motor was stroked from 5 to 5.5 Litres, making it the largest displacement built by the M division; numbers are approximately 580bhp+400lb-ft, put to the ground via the M-DCT-7Speed box. Carbon components will be seats, roof amd manifold (with increased capacity airbox). And of course, no rear seats, and a sub-8-minute 'Ring laptime.

Refined Ram ? This ones for you Serge

PRESS RELEASE:

VOLKSWAGEN PRESENTS WORLD'S MOST ECO-FRIENDLY ONE-MAKE CUP

Following the successful debut of the compressed natural gas-powered Scirocco GT24-CNG at the Nürburgring 24-hour race, Volkswagen is launching a one-make Bio-CNG-powered race series in 2010. With a CO 2 reduction of 80 per cent being achieved in combination with Bio-CNG, the Scirocco Cup will demonstrate that major innovative strides are still being made in motorsport and make it the most eco-friendly one-make championship in the world.

The Cup version of the Scirocco is designed to enable eco-friendly motorsport. Based on the TSI unit fitted in the Scirocco, the Bio-CNG-racing version of the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine develops 203 lbs ft of torque and up to 223 PS. A push-to-pass system provides a short burst of increased power of 30 PS to create additional overtaking opportunities and action throughout the race. Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifts operate a six-speed DSG gearbox and, as with the road-going Scirocco R, power is channelled through the front wheels.

Fitted with a fuel tank with a capacity of 22-litres, the Volkswagen Scirocco Cup uses so-called Bio-CNG which is produced from renewable resources such as grass or a special type of maize as well as from refined biological waste. The fuel tank itself is made from a composite material and is located behind the driver's seat, protected by the vehicle's roll cage.

The stainless steel pipes and special valves required for CNG operation within the Scirocco Cup use tried and tested components from Volkswagen production models with CNG engines, and the system pressures of 200 Bar are identical to those of the production vehicles.

Commenting on the new Scirocco Cup, Volkswagen Motorsport Director Kris Nissen explained: 'By clinching class victory at the Nürburgring we proved that CNG-powered vehicles not only deliver high fuel economy but also allow very sporty driving. That's why we're particularly proud about launching the world's first one-make cup with CNG-powered vehicles.'

Next year, promotion of young talent will again be a top priority and the aspiring racers youngsters will be able to compete with five motorsport legends at each of the races. These legends will come from Formula 1, DTM, rally racing and Le Mans as well as TV and show business.

Volkswagen first raced the Scirocco back in 1976 in the VW Junior Cup and the first winner, Manfred Winkelhock, went on to achieve major exploits in motorsport with Volkswagen. Since then, drivers including Niki Lauda, Nelson Piquet, Keke Rosberg, Bernd Schneider, Tom Kristensen and Michael Schumacher have all won the title "powered by Volkswagen".

The Scirocco Cup will replace the successful Polo Cup after six years and will become the DTM partner series in 2010.

I embark on a different training path

So, continuing to train like a bodybuilder after the cutting got boring, fast. I've been talking to a powerlifting coach for a little while now and have started training for power and focusing on very specific little weaknesses. Did some snatch-jump and hang-snatch combinations, followed by full snatch with just the bar the other day, and the after-effects are so totally different... no painful-to-the-touch soreness, but HUGE overall fatigue, and MASSIVE appetite increase haha. For those unfamiliar with the movements I've dug up some good old youtube. (as I dont own a decent video camera)

Cobalt Lives On !

So, said eff it this morning, and bought a new coil pack. Didn't really have the time to shop around as the car is needed as a daily driver.

Well, turned out it was the coil after all, she fired up and runs beautifully.

Point to ponder, this car came up with a failed ignition coil at 60,000kms with no form of abuse whatsoever. Chevy you have failed me !

Could it be the injector ?

Why did I just think of that ? What if its a clogged injector in #2 (common location) and its just spraying the plug (explains that wetness for sure... in which case that new plug in C2 would unscrew wet... 11:55pm, running out to diagnose again ! arggg... even willing to go to the gas station and dump some injector cleaner in there !

edit..... forget it, going out tomorrow morning, I NEED SLEEP. had a long leg workout, and a chinese food and cookie binge around 9pm haha

at least I didnt do what SHE attempted to do with her car >

Cobalt Crisis Continues Catastrophically

.................GAaaaaahAhahahahahhhhhhhh.
All four plugs changed. Stupid Cylinder 2 is STILL MISFIRING ! So, moving up the ladder now to change the coil. First step, MOVING the coil over to see if the misfire follows, then locating a convenient one for cheap. (no time for shipping and such shananigans) Why....oh why did my dad buy domestic ;) *nudge* *nudge* *nudge*

This is why I can't trust effin mechanics

So,
dads car pulls a CEL this morning, cars shaking like its about to start hopping. he brings it over from the gas station, I took him to work. I get in touch with the local chev cobalt club, the actual president on the forum turns out to be this super nice dude who comes out to meet me with a obd2 scanner (which I dont own... I dont know why...). Scanner doesnt pull the code, doesnt even connect with the ecu.

So I go to my dealership with whom I've done multiple deals with (they sell used 'unique' cars, www.customridesinc.ca (Also I endorse them with no second thoughts, awesome guys to deal with and they will find you any car you want no matter how rare)(and they've got a really nice M5 sitting in there, as well as two E46 M3s for awesome prices). Anyhoo, I try their OBD2, which ALSO won't pull the code. They refer me to the local mechanic, couple of doors down. He comes out, uses their large (commercial model) obd2 and pulls the code. P0302 - Cylinder 2 Misfire. Looks at me in the face, goes 'Oh dude ur not going to like me, come check this out'. Takes me to the back of the shop, shows me a coil pack out of a motor they've stripped, and tell me the whole thing needs replacing and I'm looking at a pretty big number. Do these guys really expect EVERYONE to be that stupid ? I wanted to slap the punk.

I came home, pulled off the coil pack, pulled the plug out of cylinder 2 and sure enough its wet. From the tip, halfway up the threading. So I've got my fingers crossed that its fouled - problem solved. Picking my dad up soon and bringing a replacement plug. If thats not the case, I called the Chevy Stealership to make sure, coil costs 184. 184 bucks from the DEALER. Which I could get for a 100ish. I know it can't be said for all mechanics, (i.e. my gf's family has been seeing the same mechanic for a few decades and the guy seems really fair) BUT - I can't believe the nerve of that d******bag. I wouldve bought a plug from him on the spot if he had offered. But instead of that little sale he wanted me to replace my coil packs and pay him a grand for labour. F****in idiot.

2009-10 Winter Project - Piano restoration !!!

As I got it, moved it in with a friend this morning ! built in 1902 by a company that is no longer in existence, inner workings are Heintzman & Co. Needs complete cleaning and refinishing, then perhaps a professional tune. This shall keep me occupied through the winter as I'm not currently working on the car !

Where I spend my mornings lately

Been hanging out at this spot, its calm, only sound is waves. No people, just me. Waters actually clear with a greenish hue, which is not a common feature of lake Ontario... I come by in the morning, hang out for 15-20 minutes and get back to my routine...
