Further dates and info is yet to be posted, but oh I will know ! may not go in person (im not a fan of massive crowds, and dont really see the point just gawking at someone elses car) but for those that like staring it'll be a spectacle !!!

HerraFrush

haaa.. alright, so, what is 'HellaFlush' ?
well... lets say when ricers get super low offset wheels, add spacers and tonnes of camber you end up with 'herrafrush'. Heres a civic that'll give you the idea.

So. Clearly its something people take too far, the camber isnt practical, the wheel+tire width isnt practical, its all about looks. in fact silly looks. And then there are the VW fanboys, who take this MANY STEPS further. Theres a guy around town whos fenders are cut up and rusting to accomodate his fat tires and low offset, wide wheels. And finally theres this guy...

He's getting pretty popular on the forums, check out the nasioc thread about it, first two pages are just hilarious. its such a spectacular fail that even the hellaflush/fatlace website called him out on it... links below

fernando gets sick... really, really sick.

so I got really, really sick yesterday. the famous v+d. not sure if it was something i ate, or a virus, or what... went to emergency because I was running out of all energy, head felt like it was going to explode and hips and knees were crunkin - not intentionally. i couldnt hold water, gatorade OR saliva down. So, doctor filled me up with 2 i.vs, and gave me some delicious strawberry flavoured pill that took the nausea away. the worst thing about it was that i couldnt find any position to lie or sit in that was comfortable, and the iv coming out of my left arm limited that further - fetal position it was. was there till about 3 in the morning I think, then came home and crashed. poor dad sat with me and had to go to work this morning at 5. going to sit today out... if the vomiting comes back i'm supposed to go right back to emergency because its most likely a bacteria (i.e.salmonella)

my 21 living, training and eating guidelines for people who think they're fit

And I live by these.

1) lift. at least 3X a week
2) do cardio, every day if u can. why the hell not.
3) do intervals
4) eat breakfast. no stupid excuses. if u dont have enough time it means ur lazy ass isnt getting out of bed early enough.
5) eat at least 1 good meal and 2 snacks at least an hour before a workout. u wont experience brain fog. this doesnt apply to the steady-state-cardio-zombie.
6) go for a run every now and then. dont be afraid.
7) eat every 3 hours. its really not that hard. i dont care what your stupid excuse is, its just stupid.
8) dont buy sugary s**t. it makes you fat, no matter how much testicular fortitude.
9) have enough protein options for cravings. shakes to meat.
10) i dont give a crap about the NEW DIET PLAN THAT JUST CAME OUT.
11) i also dont give a crap about the NEW TRAINING ROUTINE that just came out. also, f**k p90xdstupid.
12) do the basic strength test once a month - 15 reps of bodyweight-on-the-bar bench press, 15 proper pullups. PROPER pullups. and 15 reps of bodyweight-on-the-bar squat. if you cant, you're not strong.
13) do that old core test every 3 months. 25 reps of overhead squat, at least just the bar, sissy.
14) i've heard every excuse in the book. stop with the excuses.
15) if you have a trainer, dont be late. just dont. its way more annoying than you think.
16) learn to commit to a plan. diet or training. or life. if u cant, its just not that important to you.
17) do at least one workout of bodyweight, full body training per week.
18) dont complain about overtraining unless you've passed out, puked, or just-gotten-sick-and-sniffly after a workout during the last 3 days.
19) you forgot already, do your cardio.
20) drop the fork. unless its meat or veggies on there.
21) all you wannabe bodybuilders; that 'GAIN PHASE' you're doing is just making you a big lardass. you'll see theres no muscle after your 'cutting phase'.

im getting one of these

for all the stupid tailgaters

VRAlexander's 996TT Build

One day I shall do something like this ...

A+brief+history+of+VRAlexander's+996+Twin+Turbo+Po

9

watched 9 last night. sweet movie. just different, maybe even weird; but VERY creative, and the audio/soundtrack was just intense. The theatrical trailer does it justice, I give it 9 out of 10 ;)

just read up wikipedia on the movie. apparently rotton tomatoes gave it a 56 point something % ...mixed reviews blah blah blah.... f*** em, go see it, its a good movie !

one NICE 32 Ford Coupe

I'll let the photos do the talking... images courtesy of HOT ROD magazine

TAG Heuer Meridiist

lets be honest, it looks absolutely gorgeous, and the craftsmanship is as good as it'll ever get for a cellphone. BUT, (and there IS a huge BUT) the features are quite dismal... built in camera is the same resolution as a Blackberry Pearl, nothing fancy ergonomically, features are just plain disappointing and come nowhere NEAR a Blackberry Bold or an iPhone. And then theres the price tag. Upwards of six-THOUSAND USD ?!?!?! i dunno, as attractive as the thing looks, 6000 would actually get me a REALLY decent TAG watch, something I find a hell of a lot more functional, and I'll stick with my blackberry for airtime. Would you buy it ?

Running: the love hate relationship

I'm not a huge fan of running. I'm a massive fan of sprinting. However, I do run every now and then, as well as doing sprint intervals.

Last time I ran was with my girlfriend, 10k, was a little challenging but I did it, in bad shoes and not so perfect clothing. So, yesterday night I decided to test what I could do, and went for a nice long run with a buddy. Didn't map it first, just ran. Went for a little while, no actual 'breaks' except once to pee. Came home, mapped it on mapmyrun.com and turned out to be 8km.

My knees hurt a little but that was it. Shins were dull at the beginning, even though I warmed up thoroughly.

Serge and I decided to pull 10k runs every other week. So Tuesday night will now be 10k night. As much as I don't necessarily like running, I find it fun to run long distances for the sake of cardio... Its nice to sometimes get off the elliptical or bicycle at home or the gym, and actually be outside for a change. I won't find it much of an accomplishment until I'm running 40k or 50k casually, so I'm going to start bumping up distance by 5k or so every other week. Let's see how it goes !!!

Things that could be different

This may come off more as a rant than anything, but you would most likely agree the following things could be done differently...

1)red light cameras - someone on forums the other day got a red light camera ticket in the mail, he was .5 seconds too late. Fair ? Or just another money grab ? After all the reason he went through was because it wasn't safe to stop... Studies have shown that a better way to improve an intersection is to elongate the yellow phase.

2)people on cell phones while driving - and erratically at that. Lack of common sense or inability to think of the consequences ? I'm no saint on this one, I have done it, but I pride myself in actually being a good driver.
3)band-aid laws of Ontario - anyone doing over 50 is stunt driving ? Give me a break. About half the reported incidents I read were law officials getting busted. Including a fire chief and a cop on the highway. Mr.cyclist-crusher just wasn't about to unsatisfy the people with a lack of street racing laws. What about all the unregistered firearms in Toronto ?

Getting lean ?

Definitely, me thinks... Diet has been perfect, training a touch excessive... And yes the pic is my real arm !

haha Monkey Mask

Aston One-77

this video made me drool. fast forward to 2:43 to listen to absolute auto-pornography.

GTSpec Headers

this thing is beautiful. saw one in person the other day and the welds are flawless. its more of a work of art than a functional piece, as functional as it is haha. the equal length takes the rumble out of the boxer motors, but does help in the pursuit of power. I want one !!! - mind you i would cover the thing up with some heat wrap (the shiny showcar thing isnt for me :D)

training...

did an ARM workout today... havent done that in a LONG time, was great :) followed by 25 mins of steady state. Changing my diet again starting this weekend, cutting salt as low as I can, and carbs are coming up, to about 100gms a day. caffeine intake is still up there, but somewhat neccesary for the 4:00am cardio. works going slow, need clients, in the gym and some real estate. but on the bright side at least im getting in REALLy good shape :D cant wait to cut this s**t out completely >

injury after injury

im training and dieting myself to the edge. or so it seems. about a month ago went through some severe mid back pain, girlfriend figured out it was my ribs not moving properly, turned out to be exactly that. couple of adjustments later the pain still lingers VERy lightly. In total that injury took 2 weeks off any back/pulling related training. Yesterday, push day, i dug my stupid head into the bench un-racking a bar (doing bench press), neck cramps severely. I go on to do complexes, where I drop the bar hard down my neck (while transitioning from push-press to back squat) and today I have difficulty turning to the left. Girlfriend figured out that ribs weren't moving again, this time higher - in turn causing the left trap to spasm, making the whole area severly tender to touch. ADD the large scratch, and I'm a mess yet again. However, retraction doesnt hurt, so guess what, I'm training back tomorrow.

forgot to add... should've listened to my gf about not doing the complexes haha

tattoos...

so, I've got a bunch of small pieces and one larger piece on my right forearm. been wanting to do a sleeve for a long time, perhaps when I'm a little free financially. I find Japanese sleeves quite alluring, the color and way the images move and tie-in with each other. in fact Joe Rogan's got a nice piece, no idea when he got it but can't have been too long ago.

2009 Audi S5

a formidable car... same V8 found in the R8, just REALLY detuned. from 420hp to 354hp. Considering there arent many RSs around, this seems like a really good choice. its a great GT car, and comes with options of a purist 6-speed or DSG. I would however take an RS4 avant over this any day.

did complexes yesterday

did complexes yesterday for the first time. awesome workout. 10-12 minutes, and leaves you crying for help. and air. Its essentially a series of movements done without letting go of the bar, moving from movement to movement without any rest. heres what I did yesterday.

deadlift
romanian deadlift
bent over row
power clean
front squat
push press
back squat
good mornings

6 reps per exercise the first time around, then 90 second rest, then 5 reps, then 4 and so on till 1 rep. its SO tiring, but so much fun compared to an hour on the treadmill ! Dont wanna be this guy >
