First experience with 2011 Camaro
First off, dude with the white jacket on isn't me.
initial impression was a great one. Exhaust note complete with loud rumbles and pops. Front end is in-your-face aggressive. Rear is bleh.
The undercarriage is completely unprotected. Everything is open and inviting to lack of aero and damage. The model I drove was an SS, so it did have the brembos and performance tires. Also Hids, with the bavarian halos.
Driving feel was non-existant. Steering wheel gave no feedback whatsoever, suspension was really soft and forgiving. No bumps are to be felt up your spine like a true sports car. As a sports-grand-tourer however it would be a good, comfortable ride, minus lack of boot space. Which btw you could only really put a laptop in. And maybe a duffel bag.
Yes, I am getting to the motor and tranny. The tremec 6060 is a good gearbox, the clutch seemed lighter than the one in the challenger RT however. Engine was begging for a proper tune. Not to say there wasn't any power or torque through the powerband. But it was just boring. Sorry.
Overall impression, I wouldn't buy one. For 41 grand a used carrera S screams at me, and that's a proper driving experience. Sorry camaro, you're a jack of all trades, master of none.
